Currently, our waiting list is around 8 weeks.
To ensure that we are well prepared when we meet you, and that things go smoothly in your appointments, we will ask you to complete a background questionnaire and to provide any past reports before we finalise your appointment times. One way to ensure that your appointment is booked promptly is to submit your questionnaire and past reports as soon as you can.
Currently, Medicare doesn’t provide rebates for psycho-educational assessments / learning assessments.
Some private health insurance policies provide a rebate for parts of the assessment (typically the interview and feedback sessions). However, this will depend on which provider you are with, and what level of cover you have. You can contact your provider to find out.
If you do intend to make a claim, please let us know so that we can include the necessary information on your invoice.

However, it is not possible to record a formal diagnosis of a Specific Learning Disorder such as Dyslexia or Dyscalculia under these circumstances. So, depending on your situation and specific concerns, it may be better to defer an assessment until after intervention has been provided. If you’re not sure, we will be happy to guide you through the pros and cons of booking or deferring, and can help you identify appropriate intervention options if needed.
How you talk to your child about the assessment process will depend on their age. We suggest that you don’t use the words ’test’ or ‘testing’, and that you let them know that the process will be a bit like school, but more fun.
We will share some other advice about how to talk to your child about it at the time of booking.
Some of the key tests we use include:
