Professional Supervision for Psychologists

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked for two decades in assessment-focused roles in: 

• Government Agencies (including Centrelink and the SA Department for Education) 
• Private Practice (as a contract psychologist)
• A Not-for-Profit organisation (working as the Director of Psychology at SPELD SA) 
• Universities (I have taught postgraduate assessment topics over the past 15 years)

I have supervised dozens of clinicians through the 4+2 program, the 5+1 internship, the Clinical Endorsement program, on university placements, and those changing direction in their career or practice.  

My current areas of interest include: 

•   diagnosis and intervention for Specific Learning Disorders
•   the role of executive functions in learning processes 
•   the Therapeutic Assessment approach
•   collaborative feedback techniques
•   psychometric issues and defensible interpretation of test scores
•   client-centred report writing
•   high quality research that challenges my current practice

If you're working through a program of supervision (5+1 or clinical endorsement), we will discuss your learning goals at the outset and develop a program of discussion, reflection and reading. The best learning happens in the context of casework, so we'll deviate frequently to work through case decisions (while keeping sight of your broader goals).

I also love working with clinicians who want to dip in for a handful of sessions while they move into a new area of client work, or when they encounter a clinical situation where some additional support or a different perspective could be helpful.   

Given that most of my skills are in the assessment, rather than the intervention realm, if you're working through a formal program, you will most likely need another supervisor with an intervention focus on your supervision team.  

The hourly fees are: 

• $180 for registered psychologists 
• $160 for Provisional Psychologists 

I also offer shorter sessions at pro-rata rates.
